The name is Small Creatures With Attitude, but I am left wondering what happened to the attitude. I always feel bad giving a bad review of a game, but I would feel worse to lie and say a bad game was good. The below review is based on a few days of gameplay as I believe half an hour is more than enough time to explore and get the whole game.

The first thing I am going to comment on is the interface. Now first of all I am going to give them some bonus points for not filling their “layout” with ads. From what I could see they ran the site purely from donations which is nice. The only thing is that the game doesn’t really have a layout. The whole game is basically a gray screen with some text. I like games that at least have some type of layout so a user doesn’t get so bored while playing the game. Also, there are several links in the menu, but there were certain important features like feeding your pet sort of hidden.

Small Creatures does at least have an interesting breeding system where your little pets can have babies, unless of course you decide to take the neutering route! Now, this is a cool feature, but this is about as in-depth the site goes. The main features basically are breeding some mice or rabbits and either selling them or putting them in some mice shows? I don’t know about you, but a mice show doesn’t sound too exciting. The gameplay is fairly smooth, but it is definitely lacking in the features department.

The game has a messaging system and a forum, but I didn’t really get a feeling of being part of a community while I was playing. There were a few users that posted on the forums every once in a while, and I got a message from a user basically spamming his sale of rats to everyone online.

Basically this game has a long ways to go which shows in its overall rating. The game is just basically lacking features which makes it get pretty boring pretty fast. If you are the type that loves to raise little mice and ferrets and then show them in some virtual rat show then it looks like this is your only choice as the game is fairly original in the sense that it offers rats and rabbits as pets as opposed to a made up Usuki of NeoPets.
