Creatively unique to say the least.
- Obviously as I have said, it is a unique and creative idea.
- Lots and lots of features!
- The battle system is quite fun.
- Community is lacking the features of the rest of the site.
- Too many links just massed on pages.

When I first heard the name of this game I was slightly amused, Frog Life. It is an interesting title that comes to pass as quite creative after a quick read through the storyline. You are introduced into the game in the year 4000 AD, and you get a brief history lesson on how the frogs came to power. Basically there was the third world war in 2999, and there was total chaos on Earth. The nations had to find a way to stop the rebels, and scientists “obviously” turned to the frogs. These frogs were genetically altered super-warriors that wiped out the rebels with ease and in the coming peace lived with humans. Over time the frogs became the dominant species on Earth, and perhaps throughout the universe. Now it becomes your task to dominate all others in whichever way you chose, may that be evil or good.
As soon as I logged in I saw an array of things to do. If you love a game that goes in-depth on pretty much every aspect of your characters life then you are going to love Frog Life! The storyline pulled me in, and now all the cool features seem to keep me there. Strategy and thinking is a vital part of the gameplay which keeps it fun and new. The game is mainly text, although there is art spread throughout the site that seems to spice things up.
My first stop was the metropolis, which is a page with a huge list of things to do. I took a visit to some government buildings and tried out the cool feature ‘Game Radio’ that lets you listen to your favorite music while you play. Battle is of course a large part of the game, and their system is without fault. You have no lack of choice when it comes to upgrades, weapons, training, and users to battle.
Battling is of course not the only thing to do in Frog Life. Very early in the game I accept my first mission. I was assigned the task of capturing an alien that had escaped from Area 51. Missions, battling, training, communicating with other players, and many other things can keep you busy, and quite entertained. I don’t want to spoil the specifics of the game for you, so you are just going to have to check it out to get the full experience for yourself.
For the overall gameplay I would say it has been planned out quite well and can provide a fun and rewarding experience for the players. The battle system becomes addicting in a fun flash 1 on 1 battle. Yes that is right, no text battles here, this is real time frog flipping mayhem. There is definitely no lack of things to do, and there are many unique and creative ideas implemented into this game that make it very interesting. I must say that I haven’t seen anything quick like this, and its creativeness is what really sticks out to me.
Like the rest of the game, the interface has no lack of features. It is fairly easy to navigate through the game, and the customization is quite impressive. A user can choose his or her colors, layout design, or even how the navigation appears. A player can play the game how he or she wants to which is always a plus. Also, if you are willing to fork over a few bucks you can get an enhanced template when you are a donator, which I must say is quite a bit nicer.
The community is fun and friendly at Frog Life, and it was quite easy for me to find someone to battle in the game. The community helps make the learning curve quite small as I was right into the action of the game from the start. The only down side of the community in this game is that I couldn’t seem to get into the live chat, and the forums could be a little more active. Some other community features such as a shout box could help you feel more part of the community rather than alone in the game. Despite the poor forums activity and lack of chat support, Frog Life has what are called Legions. These are basically small communities that users can start and build their own group of friends in the game. This opens the door to a whole new array of features that keep the community feeling alive.
To sum it up, this game is very creative, unique and original, which is what I like best about Frog Life. They have a wonderful battle system that pulled me in from the start and the game does not lack in the features department. You could play Frog Life for a month and not see everything this game has to offer. So with that I say that this is a fun game, and anyone that loves role playing, especially as a frog, will love this game.
