The Cold Wars is a game based on The historical Cold Wars era. Players create bases from which they can train multiple unit types; perform a variety of attacks such as spying, sabbotage, attack, nuclear strike, hack, and raid); up to 38 Offensive and Defensive weapons to equip military units with; make weapons, units, and more available with scientific research; proliferate nuclear weapons to annihilate enemies; send military units to assist your faction (WARSAW or NATO) in the complete and total acquisition of the World's nations; and so much more. For newer players, we have the United Nations alliance filled with Administrators, the game owner, and Game Moderators to train you fully and completely with secret tips, hints, and strategy-specific information to get you started in the most strategic and extensive war you'll ever experience. If you want to start out with something much ligher, we also have a Classic Server for your enjoyment.

Game Universe

As stated, The Cold Wars is set in The historical Cold Wars era. The only thing keeping earth free from complete uniformity is the war between two warring factions...WARSAW and NATO. But both want a world after their own image....

Game Goals

We currently donate a percentage of our profits from both games to the Grace Children's Orphanage in India and we have a missingkids.com banner to help increase awareness of missing children. We hope to increase our player base, improve current features, add new features, and never stop increasing the ways our Game Network gives back to the world. Our Game Network will soon be expanding into a Bible-themed game as well as a medieval and space themed game.

Development

The Classic Server was built over two years ago by four programmers under direction of two owners long before I (the current owner) knew it existed. At some point, one of the owners left the game without saying a word (the remaining owner claimed that his partner went fully blind). Two Administrators quit working on the game due to the personality of the remaining owner and one other Administrator. The remaining owner then abandoned the game for little over 1.5 years before selling it in December of 2008 to a teenager who then proceeded to accidentally destroy all game files and the game database. The teenager than sold the domain to me who located two of the original coders and another previous administrator to recode the game. The game since then has had an extremely active administrative community to help guide, assist, and encourage players as well as update the game with new features and fix any bugs that randomly arise. We have a total of four administrators and several Game Moderators in each of our servers (the Advanced Server was almost entirely coded by myself as a new game on the Gaming Network).

Developer's story

I started out playing games such as Earth 2025 and Utopia before they were bought out and (in my opinion) ruined by their current owners many years ago. I haven't played them since then. I then got into Ages of War and other random games that started up strong and then collapsed into oblivion. When I came upon The Cold Wars, it was the same. It had lasted two years, lost over 80% of its player base, and its owner was desperate to get rid of it. Since then, I have increased the active player base by 3 times, increased the profits by over 100%, expanded into a second more advanced server, and (unlike the previous owner) started giving from the Game Network's profits to charity.

1. TCW is not the same - by Brash Rating: 1.4/10
About a year and a half ago I joined a MMOG community The Cold Wars and really enjoyed it. Recently the game inherited a new owner/administrator that has destroyed this once great game. Don't even bother playing it.
