Economics 411 will allow you to buy and sell investments and advance the timeline to see how well you made decisions. Watch the economic indicators for clues on the upcoming periods. Should you buy or sell - it's up to you.
Each game has 60 different investments in Business, Real Estate and Financial type investments.
You begin with a stake of say $1,000 but that can vary - can you make that $1,000 into a billion? How long will it take you?
Play in a single player game or multiplayer. In the multiplayer if you can't find someone to play with - we've provided robots for you to play against.

Economics 411 is an investment strategy game - by buying businesses such as Montoggies Farms, Bee-Men, Inc., as well as Real Estate all over the US and Financial instruments such as CD's (not the record kind), mutual funds and such - you'll be able to experience how they might react to various economic settings.
Each game has a different set of economic indicators.

The hope would be that after spending some time with Economics 411 - you'll start to think differently about your own investments. Maybe you'll write to me in 20 years and tell me how it helped you in your investments.
Development
As a CPA, I wanted something to illustrate to others how time and economic conditions affect investments.
Although Economics 411 is called a game - it's hoped that it is something that stimulates people's thoughts about investing and their own personal finances. It's to give them some ideas, in what is hoped to be a fun environment - about those areas and to some degree how all that works.
Developer's story
Economics 411 ® was founded by Joseph Poff, CPA through his company Auburn Software, Inc. Joe has been a CPA since 1980 and a 50% partner in a Washington CPA firm (once the 13th largest in the Seattle area) for over 20 years - a position from which he recently retired.
Economics 411 has been a long time in the making. Development was delayed while he determined exactly how to define the processes and algorithms necessary as they were much more complex than he originally anticipated. After years of more thought, some technological advances and an overall increase in his knowledge - this - the initial version of Economics 411 has been launched.
