Alchemist Prime is a free real-time strategy game.
You are an alchemist who must forage natural elements to prepare potions. Use your potions to summon creatures into your minion horde. Your minions can be used to battle other creatures directly, or you can put them to work foraging, training, guarding, building, and stealing.
In this regard, you are very similar to a wizard, necromancer, neuromancer, mage, sorcerer, etc. But you don't cast spells. Rather your magic is based upon potions that are mixed up from the ingredients that you find in your journeys.
The game is built upon foraging elements, preparing magical potions, and using those potions to build your empire. You can battle other alchemists directly or try to build yourself up slowly with subterfuge.
Potions include: summoning creatures (minions) into your service, healing, bolstering creature attributes, draining attributes, slaying, subduing, resurrecting, cloning, morphing, stealing, enchancing, and depleting.
Available monsters include: orcs, bugbears, centaurs, dwarves, elves, gargoyles, ghosts, ghouls, gladiators, gnolls, gnomes, goblins, griffons, grues, harpies, hellhounds, homunculi, hydras, imps, scorpions, kobolds, mermen, spiders, ogres, oliphants, pegasi, pseudodragons, eagles, sabretooths, sasquatches, satyrs, skeletons, sprites, troglodytes, unicorns, wargs, werewolves, wights, yetis, zombies, minotaurs, owlbears, pixies, sea hags, chimeras, vampires, manticores, cerberi, banshees, sphinx, velociraptors, cyclops, nagas, ents, mummies, trolls, wraiths, wyverns, giants, golems, mastadons, gorgons, nymphs, demons, genies, tyrannosaurs, sandworms, rocs, elementals, krakens, liches, angels, and dragons.

Game Universe
Alchemist Prime is set in a typical "D-n-D" type universe, where the player has access to many of the traditional monsters. The key to the game is the magic model. Rather than mages who somehow "forget" their spells after each use, alchemists in this game can deploy as many potions as they like - as long as they can find the necessary elements. Elements can be used in many different potions and there are strategic choices to be made as to how one uses his elements.
Game Goals
My goals are modest. If I can attract a core of 100-200 dedicated players I would be ecstatic. It doesn't take many players to make the competition truly cutthroat.
Development
I have been building web sites for more than 12 years and this is my first crack at a full-scale Flash (Flex) application. Although the game is text-based, I believe that the Flash layer adds greater usability.
Developer's story
I have been programming, in some shape or form, since 1984. I have been doing web-based development since 1997. Up until now, almost all of my work was on traditional server-side scripting technologies - PHP, ColdFusion, ASP, etc. This is my first deep foray into Flex.
