In Rebel you play a freedom fighter who needs to free the people from the reign of a totalitarian regime.

You start as a young, ambitious rebel. You will have to join attacks on The Council organized by better players, to gain experience, money and respect.
Once you're old and wise enough, you can start your own faction and pay others to do the dirty jobs.
The Dutch people will reward your courage by becoming member of your resistance and make donations. The more power your faction has, the more money it will earn, so the more means you have in defeating The Council!

Game Universe

It is the year 2056, and due an immense economic crisis the whole country was in chaos. The Dutch government wasn't able to keep hold of things and transformed
the once free country in a totalitarian regime, under leadership of The Council and the king. This party keeps the country in an iron grip for 10 years now, making the lives of the residents a hell.
Luckely, there are heroes standing up, leading rebellious factions towards the freedom of the country.

Game Goals

Hard question. I already would be very pleased with 100 active members, I think the game gets really going then, because of the large interactivity in the game. After this being my first goal, the next goal would be a multiplication of 10 :)

Development

This is the first browser game I have build. It started as a hobby project to practice my programming skills but now its finished I want to invite more people to play it. I programmed everything from scratch using Notepad++, of course using PHP forums and Google. It costed me more time than I thought, but finally after some testing and bug fixing everything is up and running!

Developer's story

During my study Industrial Design I learned programming, and I was wandering around with some original, but vague gameplay elements and a 'terroristic' theme, but never had the time to work it out. Now I had a sabattical between my Bachelor and Master degree, so I got some time to build it fully.
