Game Universe
Galaxis is set on a relative small universe. There are 4 races fighting for domination. Each race has their own strong points. When you start out you have to pick a race and what you want to do in the game. Be an attacker, trader or transporter.
In the end the only way to win the game is to blow up the entire Galaxy as nobody is willing to give in. Of course anyone can stop this from happening.
Game Goals
The goal for the game is to provide a community that is free of charge to everyone who wants to join. If possible i'd like to see the community even increase further then it is now.
Development
We always played a paper version of the game back in our school days. We wanted to turn that concept into a webbased multiplayer game. After a lot of hurdles on trying to find out which programming languages to use and trying different approaches we worked for certainly a good year on it in total. In the process learning everything we had to learn. The game has been running since 2004 and has gone through some serious changes to make it more fun and better balanced. It's really a game that can go with the saying "the more, the marrier"
Developer's story
At school we always played a paper based Galaxis and being a graphical oriented person and my brother a programmer, we'd decided on putting the game on the web. The whole game is a learning platform for us and we constantly strife to improve ourselves through it.
Meeting new people in the game is always giving me more energy to work on the game. All the people currently in the game are certainly all great people even though as a game admin you see little troubles sometimes, but thats normal. Afteral we are all human.
