The First Mafia War occurred in the early 1960's. The aftermath revealed - for the first time in public - the existence of the Mafia Commission. The Commission was an organization devoted to the furtherance of their members own wealth and power made up of the heads of the Mafia Families.
The war began in Palermo and spread throughout the world to places as far away as Caracas, Venezuela. It lasted just a few years and began in the fruit and vegetable wholesale market though the final straw was an underweight heroin shipment. It was incredibly bloody and the aftermath resulted n nearly 2,000 arrests - one with 114 defendants!

Game Universe
Pretty true to the 1961-1963 Mafia war that the game is based on - we did decide to range from Palermo to cities around the world, which did not happen so much in the real world. Still, we stuck to places where these mobsters did in fact drift and ended where many did in fact retire.
Game Goals
Pretty much my goals have always been to make a game I would enjoy playing and I have. The goals of the players are to be better than the other players! :)
Development
Initially the game was patterned directly from Raven Scripts code. My desire was to work more heavily on the story side and try and keep the realism intact. Once that was done and players began to join, I realized the scripts were just as good as the $8 price tag.
So I went back in and completely reworked every piece of code. All new. All carefully crafted by hand and all with the plan of having fun - not profit.
Developer's story
I own a web development company that pays me well enough. This was a side project for fun. Now that it has made a few bucks on its own - I find I am paying more and more attention to it, and more and more effort goes into it. Fun all around!

It's a great game with a great community. Fairly new but the numbers are growing. Help always available when needed. Admin keeps your informed and addresses your questions promptly. Improvements happening all the time.
