Game Universe
Xymphoma is set in a dark time where crime is a part of everyday life for everyone from the guy at the bus stop picking your pocket to the little old lady behind you with the shotgun attached to her walker. The police are owned by the highest bidder and everyone wants to be a crimelords.
Game Goals
I just want people to get on Xymphoma and have as much fun or more as I am having creating it! If I can get people addicted to browser games like what happened to me I would be saticefied with my accomplishments.
Development
I got addicted to browser games after a friend of mine from Everquest turned me onto them. Been playing for maybe 6 years now. Since then I always thought it would be kewl if I was able to make one myself and tune it the way I wanted to.
Eventually I got some time and was able to learn a bit of coding, done up some graphics in Photoshop, and borrowed some server space from a friend of mine. The rest is history. Of course I doubt the game will ever be finished as there is ALWAYS something to add or improve upon. It is still in Beta right now but when I get a few more players that will actually try and play instead of logging in to see what it looks like and never come back lol Im sure there will be a full launch. And Im thinking prizes for the ones that helped out the beta test!!!
Developer's story
I play Everquest...no...not one of THOSE people that looses their jobs because they have to go on a raid. Couple times a week is all...but been doing it for a while. An ingame friend told me once, "go check out this websight, its a browser game and its new." I did...got addicted...and wanted one of my own. Well...if you have ever tried to purchase a websight you would know that even the most basic pages are pretty expensive let alone one that is entertaining and pretty specific. So I drifted away from the normal HTML and learned some PHP as well. Found out how these games work and made one of my own. Ongoing process but its fun trying to work out all the bugs. VERY rewarding when you get that voting script finally working or see that you can in fact put the other person in the hospital. I love it!!! You should try it and see how much fun you can have doing it yourself!!! =o)
