Between the living worlds and the alleged world that awaits us after we die, there exists a transportation network called the Breath Tragger. This network works non-stop to deliver Shades to their various destinations, and in doing such, recycles their life essences and keeps the balance of the universe. However, like all transportation systems, the Breath Tragger is not without its flaws. Sometimes, more often when races are warring, the Breath Tragger becomes congested. It is during this time that the greedy Black Shuck likes to surface. Like a sticky-fingered child eyeballing candy, it hungrily selects Shades to serve its own purposes.
The Black Shuck can be described succinctly as an infinite pocket dimension. It is not known exactly how, but the Black Shuck manages to pluck Shades out of the Breath Tragger before they are able to reach their final destinations, thereby upsetting the natural flow. The captured Shades are tossed into the dimension of Black Shuck, awakening in a place referred to as Limbo.
There are many theories as to why the Black Shuck is capturing and holding onto Shades. The most popular one is the belief that the Black Shuck is building an army; an army so powerful that it will be able to usurp the entire universe. Whether it is creating an army or not, the demise of the universe seems inevitable if the Shade theft continues.
With each passing moment, the balance of the universe tips ever so slightly in the Black Shuck's favour as it continuously rips Shades from the Breath Tragger. Now that you've died on your world and have been ensnared by the Black Shuck's fierce jaws, please ask yourself one question: are you going to let this Shade plundering continue?

Game Universe
Black Shuck is the name of what some would call a parallel universe. Or rather, a parallel pocket. You see, when a soul dies, it must travel to its final resting place. For most souls, this is either a place like Heaven or Hell. However, there appears to be a slight glitch in soul transportation.
For one reason or another, instead of arriving at their final resting place, a few souls every now and then get sniped and end up in Black Shuck. For most, this is devastating, and Black Shuck is often referred to as a Hell. The souls that end up there are there against their own will.
They want to escape from Black Shuck.
Game Goals
To develop an immersive world that is both engaging and challenging for players that has a high focus on roleplaying and character development.
Development
Black Shuck is a game being developed using a strict MVC approach. It uses PHP5, SQL databases as the back-end, Smarty as its templating engine, and jQuery. It has been a real treat to work on.

Um... I just like working on things that are a little morbid, a little funny, and a whole lot of awesome.

1. You won't toss these bones to the dogs - by Nosce Rating: 6/10
As this game is still in production, I cannot fairly rate some fields. All fields that have obtained a five are the fields that are affected by the production. Black Shulk is a humorous and morbid take on both roleplaying and PBBG, as it is a seamless blend of the two. You begin on level one of a nine circle between-life-and-death world. This level, appropriately named Limbo, is the only circle you can access until you gain enough activity and/or currency (still undecided). Before you can begin to really be active, you must create your character bio, in true forum-based RPG fashion. The freedom is really yours. All that you really have to abide by is the fact that you are dead (known as a Shade - a somewhat ethereal shell of your former life) and that you had to have been an animate object in the past life. That's it. You can add any fantasy element to your shade that you wish. You will fill out their name, gender, appearance, personality, and of course, how they died. There's not much you can do yet after character creation, except of course familiarize yourself with the community via OOC chats and In-Character roleplaying. In the future, however, items will be availabe, currency will have worth and upper tiers of the nine circles will be accessible. Oh, did I also mention the extensive and one-of-a-kind list of skills that your character can learn? These skills, both administrator-made and character-contributed, range from simple shadow cloaking to pyrokenetics! I will certainly write a full review once more functions become usable. But for now I advise immersing yourself in a one-of-a-kind RP full of capable, creative and intermediate roleplayers, myself included.
