V-petsite.com has a friendly atmosphere with members ranging in all ages. Our community is active, helpful and laid
back.
Game Goals
The goals for V-petsite is to provide a unique tool set in which members can create their own Virtual Petsite and
also to inspire learning. V-petsite allows the use of HTML and CSS to modify layouts and templates to completely
overhaul the layout used by the game. We hope this continues to inspire young members to learn HTML and CSS as
many have done in the past through our system.
Development
V-petsite was built using HTML, CSS, PHP, JS, Ajax and jQuery. This project has been on going for almost 5 years
and is still being developed by myself today. I have never gotten bored of it.
Developer's story
I first started studying PHP back in 05 when i was 15, i have always had an interest in the web and how it
all works and, at the same time i was, and still am, a massive fan of browser based games, whether RPG, RTS
or Virtual Pet Based.
I continued to study PHP and created a few small projects which i used as experiments and kept them as examples
should i ever need to go back if i forgot something. This eventually got boring and i really wanted to work on my
first website. The problem was coming up with a unique idea that hadn't already been done, that idea was V-petsite.
V-petsite was released for the first time in 07. The layout was plain and it lacked a lot but i now knew i could
create such a system and continued to work on it. At the time i didn't know of XAMPP or Apache so i used a free
host to test my work. Next thing i knew i had 2k members.
5 years later Version 3 is here, looking the way i always intended it to look. But I'm still not finished, i will
never be finished, i love this project, i never get bored of it and I'll continue to expand it until my keyboard
has worn down to the core!

Aw, my other review got cut off. D= The owner and gameplay are both really good. The only problem with v-petsite is the community.....which is downright awful. There's only one mod on the forums and they don't do their job well (and often will ban entire subjects from discussion if someone so much as disagrees with them about them). The players treat each other like trash sometimes and can get away with almost anything. The owner is good. The service is good. The only blindspot is the community. Hopefully, after version three of v-petsite is released, there will be some more mods on there who will do their jobs.
