Zedwars.com New Editor

www.zedwars.com
Greetings fellow Gamers, My name is Hrm , and I'm the latest editor to try and tame this wild beast of a paper. I feel honesty is important in all good relationships, so, I'm going to be honest about my intentions right from the opening credits. I did not take this editorial position to try and further the game, nor do I expect it to. I also didn't take the job to provide a valuable service to the players, not even to provide entertainment . I'm also not getting paid for this gig either, so I'm sure at this point you're wondering what in the frell I'm doing here. The truth of the matter is that I'm doing this because now I'm at uni I don't do any kind of creative writing at all, and that worries me because expressing yourself through the medium of written word is a skill that's often overlooked in the era of new fangled whatchumahcallits. Everyone has phones, nd its mch quicka 2 tlk lyk dis newayz rite? Wrong. Well actually no, that's factually accurate, but talking like that makes people instantly hate you and makes Stephen Fry angry, and that is NOT acceptable. As for the place of writing in the modern world, a carefully thought out letter or even email will always have more impact than a spur of moment bout of verbal Diarrhea. And sure films are a much easier to digest form of entertainment, but you are limited to what you can see on the screen whereas with a book the only real limit is the boundaries of yours (and the Authors) imagination. Anyway, I digress, the point here is that I'm hoping to capture the slowly dieing artform that is communicative and expressive writing and this is the real reason I'm here. Despite this being my primary motive, whilst I'm searching for the ever elusive writing bug there's no reason why I can't try to achieve all of the aforementioned things at the same time. In summary I hope both myself and the Zed community can gain something useful from this experiment.

Awkward introductions out the way, it's time to discuss the paper itself. Now I'm sure in the past you've been promised amazing things for this paper, and for one reason or another I'm sure you've found yourself disappointed (or more than likely just disinterested) but don't worry as this time things are going to be different. In a similar vein to the above paragraph, as a new and dedicated editor to the team I'm promising you absolutely nothing. Will it be on time? Don't count on it. Will it contain a wealth of information you couldn't live without? Well, there might be information involved however don't expect a life changing read. Will there be letters combined to form words? Someti. The easiest way to make this paper serve any purpose is if you, the valued reader (I would have said readers, plural, however I'm not that optimistic), give us here at the Zedzine a little advice as to what you want. Constructive criticism, always useful, insults and flaming, always useful as well assuming your objective is to come across as both a douchebag and a simpleton in the quickest way possible. Advice can be what you want to see more of, what you don't want to see any more of, whether certain articles were too long, whether there were too many spelling mistakes, anything and everything. My role as an editor is to produce the paper, not just to write it, so if you feel there's someone better for writing the article then I'll man up and employ someone else to pump out articles. Once I'm done crying that is.

So yeah, I think that's first impressions and my views on the Zedzine covered relatively succinctly in article one. If you've read this far then I've already achieved more than I thought I would, thanks for your time and for allowing me the opportunity to write for/at you.
