MINEWARS ROUND 21 BEGINS AUG. 25 @ 10:00 AM EST

A new round of Minewars, a free, online war strategy game, begins, hot on the heels of one of the most exciting finishes in Cincomm-9 history. Just 12 minutes of action were all that separated a clan from achieving what has never been done - a full HOF sweep. They were stopped at the last second in an impressive tactical set of attacks by the founder of their chief rival clan. Of course I'm talking about Apex and C9C.
The next round promises to be even more competitive. The great clan Apex, which has dominated for several rounds now, has broken up. Clan leader Elder Smidsy stated that Apex has achieved more than enough to prove its place, and from this fallout some members will go to help others and some will form new separate clans.
And so the race for the throne begins. Clans, such as Merc and Worm, have been steadily growing stronger, with Merc at one point looking as though it would place 2 HOF in round 20. WORM looks to disrupt the world, having been the first clan to discover the Legend Sandworm - a powerful unit that has remained a locked secret for the past two years. Older clans, such as Chaos and Fate, also came close to placing in the Hof last round as well and appear to be on track for good starts. Then, there is C9C, the clan that stopped Apex from sweeping the HOF. Will they rise to power now that Apex is gone? One cannot help but consider the Apex fallout clans as well. One, led by Nastydog called Shadow Tactical Clan (STC), includes a few of the Apex stars. Elders Smidsy and Cvelle are not among them. Finally, solo players. In the last couple rounds there have been solo players that have done extremely well.
Where will you fit into this power struggle? The world is wide open and set to explode - be there.
Aside from that, testing of Teamwars is well underway and actually getting quite competitive. In this alternate game, players form 4-player squads and duke it out for top team score. Unlike in the main game, hiding is possible and outpost warfare is more important. MWA is well underway in its first round, and development of the Minewars RPG will soon be calling for Content Editors (CE’s) to come populate the world and give it depth. The guide for the CE’s is almost finished.
In short, a lot is going on in the Minewars world. Recent advertising has brought in more players for the upcoming round. Come check it out and test your skill at wartime strategy.
