Mykiana Closed Beta nearly ready!


After nearly a year in development, Mykiana is nearly ready for closed beta testing. May 1st is the intended date for the start of beta, if we don't hit any huge snags.

Some of you may be wondering what Mykiana is. Well, Mykiana is a new breed of breeding sims. Granted, at the moment, we don't have many extra features, but if the site becomes popular, I have enough idea to constantly develop new content for at least a year, which will eventually take it above and beyond any other breeding, or pet sim out there.

What do we have that's unique?
Well, Mykiana will be the first breeding sim with a wide range of content only available through breeding. This means that there will be several markings, features, and even breeds which can only be obtained through breeding. The breeding only content can have requirements as simple as a random chance, or as complex as requiring a number of features, markings, and stats.

We are also using silverlight to help create a more interactive game. Our real time silverlight custom demo is something that I haven't seen the likes of elsewhere, and allows you to view your colours changing on your animal, as you select them from the colour picker. This means you can more easily get that perfect colour combination!

We plan to eventually have silverlight games available to help users increase their wealth, and several other features are planned.

My current host is also not the best, so I know there will likely be downtime during closed beta. Because of this closed beta will be completely free, meaning even stuff that usually costs real money, will be more easily obtainable without it.
